Almost every Midwest gardener knows that summers would not be complete without one or more varieties of coneflower. They're extremely easy to care for: adaptable to most soil types provided it is well-drained, tolerant of drought, poor soils, heat and humidity, and can grow in either full sun or part shade. The 4” wide soft melon-yellow flowers of ‘Butter Pecan’ are fully double. This variety is prolific in its floral production, seated atop dense rosettes of foliage. Broad, horizontal ray petals maximize flower size. Plants are relatively disease, insect, and deer resistant apart from aster yellows disease.
