The ‘Lemony Lace’ elderberry is the sunny bright yellow version of the ‘Black Lace’ elderberry. This North American native produces big clusters of white flowers in early spring before the foliage emerges. Bright yellow leaves edged in red then take over. As the foliage ages, ‘Lemony Lace’ turns an attractive chartreuse color. Prunes well if you desire to keep it smaller, but do so after blooming as this shrub blooms on old wood. Requires little to no maintenance. Berries attract wildlife, but are poisonous to people. Deer resistant.
