'Blue Shadow' fothergilla is valued for its multi-season interest. It is adorned in feathery, tower-like blooms in cream colored tones that smell like honey. Throughout the growing season, shrubs are covered in powder blue oval leaves, and by autumn, they turn varying shades of orange, yellow, and red. Fothergilla prefer moist, acidic soils in full sun or part shade, however they are tolerant of some drought and alkalinity. Fothergilla is a good choice for hedges or massing and is virtually disease and insect resistant.
