Dwarf fountain grass is a smaller clump forming grass that has narrow medium green blades that give rise to bristly pinkish white seed heads that cover the compact mound in late summer. 'Hameln' is an excellent cultivar that was selected for its site tolerance (drought, wet, and erosion tolerant) and compact nature. It is very low maintenance and has a showy golden fall color that turns sandy colored by winter. Foliage and seed heads can be left in the winter for texture.
