Grass, Switch, Hot Rod

'Hot Rod' switch grass is a compact, drought and salt tolerant, clumping grass with excellent vertical form. It has blue-green foliage during the growing season that turns a deep burgundy in summer. Airy purple flower panicles produce showy seed heads that provide winter interest. Prefers semi-moist to wet soils, but can tolerate drought once established. 'Hot Rod' is a haven for wintering songbirds.
