Savin junipers make excellent evergreens for erosion control or for areas where other plants might struggle to grow. 'Buffalo' is a female cultivar that has excellent medium green feathery foliage that keeps its color well in the winter. With its wide spreading habit and short stature, 'Buffalo' works great on rock walls, along paths, or in other areas where a dense coverage is desired. Savin junipers do best in average, well-drained soil in full sun; tolerates heat, clay, cold extremes, and drought as well.
