‘Purple Pillar’ rose of Sharon (also called hibiscus syriacus, Purple Pillar® ) is a totally unique rose of Sharon. It naturally grows as a narrow column instead of a wide, spreading plant. Due to its columnar habit, it has little to no branching, and therefore does not need to be pruned. During the summer, each stem is packed along its entire length with semi-double purple blooms. 2023 landscape shrub of the year.
