Shadblow serviceberry makes a wonderful understory or ornamental tree/shrub for four season interest. Each spring they are covered in small white, fragrant blooms which mature into edible, dark purple-red fruits by summer. Small, elliptical bright green leaves cover the rounded canopies throughout the growing season before changing to shades of red, orange, and yellow in autumn. They do best in moist to wet, loamy well-drained soils in full sun to part shade and benefit from a layer of mulch. Spring Glory® was selected for its compact size.
