Often seen tucked in containers or corners of the yard, the dwarf Alberta spruce makes an excellent evergreen shrub. The soft, bright green aromatic needles mass together to form a dense, pyramidal conifer that can be trimmed in age as a topiary if desired. Cones are rarely produced. Dwarf Alberta spruce are perfect for small spaces, provided they have moist, well-drained soils in full sun. They do however tolerate some light shade and do best in cooler weather.
