Sugar maples have one of the best fall colors when it comes to trees and are a beautiful mix of reds, yellows, and oranges. They are often characterized by a rounded, upright form which is covered in medium-green leaves throughout the growing season. These slower growing maples do best in full sun to part shade in well-drained soils. Sugar maples have no serious insect or disease problems, however they do not tolerate pollution or salts well. Commemoration® sugar maple was selected for its orange fall color and resistance to leaf tatter. It is also faster growing than other sugar maples.
