Sugar maples have one of the best fall colors when it comes to trees and are a beautiful mix of reds, yellows, and oranges. They are often characterized by a rounded, upright form which is covered in thick, medium-green leaves throughout the growing season. These slower growing maples do best in full sun to part shade in well-drained soils. Sugar maples have no serious insect or disease problems, however they do not tolerate pollution or salts well. Fall Fiesta® sugar maple is prized for its vigorous growth (fastest of sugar maples), resistance to leaf tatter and scorch, heat and drought resistance, excellent winter hardiness, and vivid display in autumn.
