Kindred Spirit® oak is an excellent choice for tight spaces! This very formal, upright oak was selected for its extremely narrow form (coming from its English oak parent), terrific cold hardiness, strong limbs resistant to ice/wind, bold dark green coloring, and powdery mildew resistance (the rest of which come from the swamp white oak parentage). It prefers a site in full sun with well-drained soil, yet can tolerate clay, damp, or dry soils. Leaves are dark green and lighter green underneath and are characterized by several lobes along the leaf edge. Puts out attractive acorns through the growing season and grows faster than other oaks (1-1.5ft a year). When massed together, Kindred Spirit® makes an excellent screen or hedge row.
