Sweetspire is an excellent shrub for multiple season interest. Plants are at home in moist, rich soils in full sun to part shade, however they are quite versatile and tolerate a wide range of growing conditions, even heavy shade. Plants are recognized by their oval dark green leaves which are arranged on arching stems that, by autumn, turn vivid shades of red and orange which can persist into winter. Sweetspire is covered in drooping clusters of fragrant white flowers through summer. It is also deer, insect, and disease resistant. Little Henry™ is prized for its smaller, compact habit, vivid burgundy fall color, and prolific flowering period.
